Projects and backing

Funding, investing and backer privacy

Choose funding or investment interest, understand unpaid pledges and control your public backing profile.

Two ways to back a project

Choose Provide funding to support a project without buying equity, or Explore investing to discuss an investment opportunity privately with the team. These are separate paths: a funding pledge is not an investment agreement, and investment interest is not money received.

For teams: publish a clear funding plan

  1. Open Team workspaces, choose your team and open its venture editor.
  2. Enter a funding target in SLE, why it is needed and how the money will be spent. A closing date is optional.
  3. Submit the revised project for approval. Editing a published project removes it from public listings until it is approved again.
  4. A positive goal and a published funding and spending plan are required before the campaign can accept funding pledges.

What the funding figures mean

The goal is the gross amount the team wants to raise. YABAS retains a transparent 10% platform fee from confirmed funding, so the team receives the remaining 90% before any separate payment-provider charge. Raised means confirmed SLE funding payments with a payment date. Unpaid pledges, investor enquiries, failed or refunded payments, test transactions and old demo balances are excluded. A funding target is not a promise of funding or delivery.

Provide funding

  1. Open an approved project, read its story and funding plan, then choose Back this project and Provide funding.
  2. Sign in, enter an amount of at least SLE 1 and choose how you would like to appear publicly.
  3. Read and accept the funding notice, then continue to TenkiPay when checkout is enabled. YABAS retains a disclosed 10% platform fee from confirmed funding only. If checkout is disabled, the platform records an unpaid pledge and no money is charged.
  4. Your backing appears privately under Your backing for this project. Unpaid pledges do not appear in the public total or backer list.

Explore investing

  1. Choose Explore investing on the project page. The private enquiry form opens with Investor selected.
  2. Enter your contact details, indicative investment amount and the opportunity or terms you want to discuss.
  3. Submit the enquiry so the team can review it privately. Investment enquiries do not appear in the public backer list or funding total.
  4. Agree any investment terms and required documentation separately with the team. This enquiry does not execute a transaction, issue equity or promise returns.

Anonymous, name-only or public profile

Anonymous is the default for funding. Visitors see Anonymous backer and the amount only after payment is confirmed. Name-only displays your account name without a profile link. Public profile links your name to other confirmed contributions you explicitly marked for profile listing. Email and phone are never shown publicly. Anonymous does not hide your private record from Yabas or the project team. Investment enquiries remain private.

Change visibility or cancel an unpaid pledge

While signed in, open the project and use Your backing for this project to change visibility. You can cancel a pledge while it remains unpaid. This is not a refund tool: confirmed payments cannot be cancelled here. Closed campaigns do not accept new pledges.
